Asset Capital Insurance is in business to provide you with Specialized Insurance products and services. In order to serve you and meet your needs in the most professional manner possible, we need to know certain personal information, details of which will vary depending on the nature of insurance services required. This information will be used only for the purpose it was originally collected, and the Company will only retain in the information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and/or to meet legal or contractual requirements.
You have a right to know how your broker collects, uses and discloses your personal information. You have a right to expect that, to the best of our abilities, your personal information will remain accurate, secure and confidential. Your information will not be sold or shared in any way with any unauthorized third party.
Why is information needed?
We will only ask for information that we need and when we ask you for information, we’ll let you know why it is needed. Some of the reasons might include:
- to assess needs and offer products and services
- to communicate with client
- to complete applications
- to obtain quotes of insurance
- to obtain reports from credit agencies
- to provide claims information or gather underwriting information
- to comply with regulatory or legal requirements
- to bill products and services
Consent is required
Your disclosure of personal information is one way that you consent to our use of private information. Other means of consent include: your signing of an application form, an email, a letter, or of a verbal conversation by phone or in person.
We would consider your consent to the collection, use and disclosure to third parties such as insurers to be express, upon receiving from you personal information destined to allow us to provide you with an insurance product or service.
Individuals or companies with employees have a responsibility to obtain a prior consent from such employees before they release their personal information to us.
What information is on file?
You may obtain details as to the personal information which is on file, by submitting a written request to our Privacy Officer. Clients can request that their personal information on file be amended for the sake of accuracy and, where appropriate we will do so.
Consent can be withdrawn
Your consent can be withdrawn at any time, but this may prevent us and your insurer from providing you with the requested product or service.
The need for security
Every employee of the company, as a condition of employment, takes responsibility for protecting client privacy, confidentiality and security. This obligation remains in effect even after an employee leaves the Brokerage. Suppliers such as software vendors are required to sign confidentiality agreements if they are exposed to any client information. Controls are in place over computer systems and data processing procedures to ensure compliance with our security and privacy policies.
The Brokerage destroys or erases any personal information when it is no longer needed. When information is destroyed or erased, the brokerage takes care that there is no unauthorized access.
